On the 25th of April 2009, Papua New Guinea hosted the World Kickboxing Title Fight at the Sir John Guise Indoor Stadium. Organised by Papua New Guinea's very own Stanley "Head Hunter" Nandex who also fought for the last time, the event attracted Kickboxing champions from Australia and New Zealand.

The event drew thousands of people in Port Moresby who were eager to catch a glimpse of Stanley Nandex himself fighting for the last time before retiring in professional kickboxing. Stanley Nandex did not disappoint them, winning in the second round.
