The inaugural Pacific Rugby League Cup Final between Papua New Guinea and Cook Islands was played in Port Moresby yesterday (1st November 2009). The match was won convincingly by Papua New Guinea Kumuls with the scoreline of 42 to 14.The scorecard at half-time was 20 - 10. Man of the match was won by young fullback David Mead.
Papua New Guinea Kumuls are now the champion of the Pacific (excluding Australia and New Zealand) and will represent the Pacific Islands in a four nations tournament that involves Australia, New Zealand and England next year (2010) in Australia.
