PNG Games 2009 which kicked off on November 19th was a week long sporting event that saw teams representing all the 20 provinces of
Papua New Guinea competing in many sports in Port Moresby, National Capital District (NCD).
The PNG Games is a bi-annual event that was first staged in Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province, then in Lae in the Morobe Province. Port Moresby and NCD is the third city and province to host the games. East New Britain Province has won the bid to host the next PNG Games in 2011.
The games was won by National Capital District (NCD), the host team with 40 Gold Medals and total of 100 medals followed by Morobe Provine with 32 Gold Medals and 88 medals.
